6/2/08:

The Dells Duel part one took place this past Saturday night at the Dells Raceway Park located in the Wisconsin Dells, Wisconsin. The 53 car qualified tenth, ran sixth in the heat race, and finished seventh in another abbreviated main event. After a rain shortened race over in La Crosse a couple of weeks back, the Dells  race was called do to a local ordinance curfew. We do plan to participate in the upcoming Mid American event over at Wisconsin International Raceway (WIR) in the Red Race, which is part of the Red, White, and Blue State Championship Series. WIR is located over in Kaukauna, Wisconsin and is considered to be Hot Rod's home track. We have hopes of breaking into the top five, and being able to challenge for a top spot. While turning many laps in a late model car at Kaukauna over the past several years, it has been six years since we have raced at Kaukauna in the Mid-American style stock car. We look forward to the  opportunity. The photo ( 3-wide), is typical of the competition and great racing that we have experienced in 2008. It is great to be able to race with a group that you can race hard with, and yet have the confidence that they won't wreck you.

05/19/08:

Mid-American's open for the USAC National Midgets Tour at La Crosse. Rod qualified sixth and finished second in his heat race. After starting on the inside of row five in the feature race, Rod worked his way up into the fourth position until he made contact with the #36 car of Brian Back. The two spun on lap 28 sending both cars to the tail of the field. At the restart, Rod got right back at it,  passing for the tenth position before the yellow/checkered waved due to rain. We definitely had a top five car, luck just didn't go our way. There were twenty-five Mid-American cars that qualified for the event. We plan to run the Dells Motor Speedway on May 31st, with the next Mid-American Stock Car Series Event.

04/13/08:

Season opener at Rockford Speedway for the Mid-American Tour.  Qualified eighth, finished third in the fast heat, and finished eighth in the feature race (running). We will work on the front end to hopefully get more grip. We will race next at Golden Sands in Plover, WI on Sunday 04/27/08. The Mid-American Tour headlines the season opener for the Golden Sands Speedway.

9/22/07:

The Mid American Stockcar Series made its first appearance at Marshfield Super Speedway this past Saturday. Rod and the team also made our first official start of the year with the Mid American Stockcar Series. After a sixth place qualifying effort, Rod was able to motor the car around in the second groove to a third place feature finish. After not being able to hold the bottom groove, Rod quickly moved up the track and passed for the lead 1/2 way through the event. Rod went on to lead laps 20-33, before being overcome by the eventual race winner, James Swan. While Swan clearly had the better handling car, Rod was able to race door to door for 3-4 laps before getting up into the marbles with 7 laps remaining. The new 2007 CTF Chassis performed very well and responded well to adjustments made throughout the weekend. We are all looking forward to Oktoberfest and running with the series again at the season finale over in West Salem on the weekend of October 4th-7th.

9/14/07:

A photo of the 2007 Chevy Monte Carlo (53) race car with the cherry knocked off from a Slinger, WI  race back at the end of August. We plan to race this coming Saturday at Elko, MN and if everything test out with the new car, motor, and chassis, we plan to run two Mid-American series races at Marshfield the following week and then Oktoberfest over in West Salem the first weekend in October.  This coming weekend at Elko is a double feature night so we should get plenty of laps to shake the car down.
